King's Kids Day

A few weeks ago, our church had a "play day" for toddlers and preschoolers.  We invited Jacob's mom, his other siblings, and PaPa and Mema.  We had a blast riding the train, jumping in jump houses, getting tattoos, playing games, watching Hubba Bubba the clown, and eating hot dogs together!

Niki, Eli, and Will riding the train together.  I got to hold sweet Finley while they took their train ride.

Mema and her buddy, Abel!

Abel got a tattoo.  My boys love tattoos!

Miss Finley had fun exploring in the bounce house.

Abel says, "cheese!"

Will had a blast shooting hoops!

The whole gang (minus me)--Mema and Abel, PaPa and Eli, Niki, Finley, and Will.

Eli was enthralled with Hubba Bubba.

Abel and Niki hanging out and watching the show.

Hubba Bubba kept us all entertained!

Eli was chosen to be a helper.  He was beyond thrilled!  I just love his little hands on his hips--so growny!

Magic!

I am so thankful for our fabulous church family and our children's ministry team.  This was such a great day for all of us!

Home Decor-DIY Style

I've been wanting some artwork or home decor with scripture for our home.  I'm not a big fan of the vinyl stickies for the walls and painting is not my forte, so I resorted to what I know--digital scrapbooking.  Yesterday, I parked myself in the big red chair with the old PC laptop, and got creative.  This is the "artwork" I ended up with.  Not too shabby for a first turn at word art, if you ask me!  Paired with a couple of frames we bought on sale for "buy one, get one for a penny," I have achieved my goal for under $12 and I am quite happy!

Getaway

Matt and I try to get away once a year to celebrate our anniversary and recharge our marital batteries--so to speak!  :)  This year we headed to Wilmington for some sun and fun.  We hit the beach, took a horse-drawn carriage tour, walked along the riverfront, did a little shopping, and ate great food (oceanfront, riverfront, and yucky-front--which describes my experience with duck liver mousse!).  It was such a blessing to be able to get away for the night and focus on each other.  And in case you were wondering, I love him more today than I did 7 years ago when we married!

Play Ball!

It's that time of year again.  That time where we spend two nights a week at the ball field watching Jacob play baseball.  This is Jacob's thirteenth season with the same league (I think) and it's his best so far.  I'm amazed at the progress he's made and the confidence he's gained.

He's been pitching quite a bit.  One night he held off the other team for 3 innings (technically a 3 inning no-hitter), while his team went on to score 5 runs!  Woohoo!

At bat, he's been on the stick!  Teehee!  He's scored numerous RBIs and has cracked a couple doubles, too!  On top of that, he's become an aggressive base runner.  I love watching him steal, especially at home to score a run!

Behind the plate, Jacob works hard.  He is quick to pop up, throw off his helmet and make the plays that help his team!

GAME BALL!!

Jacob is having a blast this season and we are, too!
Go, White Sox!!

Happy Mother's Day!

For all you do, and for all you give,
For all you are, and for all you helped me become...
THANK YOU!

Strawberry Picking!

A week ago, we headed out for some family time in the strawberry fields.  We didn't pick a ton of strawberries, but we had a ton of fun together!

Daddy helped Abel find the red ones to pick.  Abel preferred to just pull at the plants and throw whatever came off into the bucket!

Eli should be weighed on the way in and weighed on the way out and charged for the difference!!

Jacob pitched in and picked quite a few berries!

The little boys had fun running down the strawberry rows.  My boys really do know how to have fun no matter where they are!
